Welcome to The Savannah Railroad Roundhouse

Quantum Tour is proud to bring to you, The Savannah Railroad Roundhouse. Built in 1850 it is a National Historic Landmark site and the oldest and largest existing 19th century railroad operations complex in the United States and one of the few operating roundhouses left today. It was the Original site of the Central Georgia Railway Headquarters. The site was abandoned in the 1960s and was spared by several railroad enthusiasts and has become a Save America Treasures site and is currently Georgia's State Railroad Museum. Exhibits include a collection of steam and deisel locomotives, rail cars and steam powered machinery. Presently owned by the City of Savannah and operated by The Coastal Heritage Society it is open for visitors on a daily basis and occasionally small concerts and venues are held there. This is a must see stop for anyone who loves trains while visiting Savannah Georgia
